The population of Ituri sensitized on MONUSCO new mandate

Aru, 10 September 2012 - The Public Information Office of the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo (MONUSCO) organized on Monday, 10 September 2012, a workshop on MONUSCO new mandate in Aru, a town about 350 km north-east of Bunia in Ituri, one of the districts of Province Orientale.

As part of the awareness campaign on the mandate, the workshop was intended for the various components of the civil society and the civil servants of Aru.

At the end of the workshop, the participants said they would like to see more involvement from MONUSCO in finding solutions to the insecurity plaguing eastern Congo.

This campaign will be carried out in other centers of the district in order to bring everyone to the same level of understanding concerning the Mission’s mandate.
