MONUSCO: Sharing Experience on Project Management with Students of the Catholic University of Congo

On 18 December 2013, the Catholic University of Congo (UCC) organized a conference on the lessons learned from the management of MONUSCO-CPAD Quick Impact Project (QIP) during which 50 women were trained in IT, Marketing and English. It was held in Kinshasa from May to September 2013. The event also gathered roughly 100 students, members of project management, entrepreneurship, and finance sections.

In his opening remark, Mr. Jean-Pierre Mbwebwa Kalala, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Development, invited Ms. Laure Gnassou, Economic Affairs Officer for Political Affairs Division- MONUSCO, to share her experience on management of MONUSCO-CPAD QIP project. She recalled the major steps of the project’s implementation. She stressed that a good partnership with CPAD, the implementing partner, was crucial for an efficient fund management. Moreover, Mr. Freddy Ndjadhy, Head of CPAD, indicated that the training session received private sector’s support. This helped at least four trainees to get a job in the formal economy.
