Enhanced coordination to stabilize projects in Mambasa territory

Bunia – 27 August 2015

: A team of the project MONUSCO Island of Stability, of the UN pilot project Immediate Response Facility (IRF) and of government Program for the Reconstruction and Stabilization of the Zones emerging from Armed Conflicts (STAREC) met to determine the mechanisms for enhanced coordinating facility which will have a bigger impact for the population of the territory of Mambasa.

In the wake of the evaluation mission of IRF pilot project that took place from 17 to 21August 2015, MONUSCO, IRF and STAREC teams identified the restoration of the State authority and democratic dialogue as the two major areas to build on an enhanced collaboration that would contribute an added value within the framework of the International Security and Stabilization Support Strategy (ISSSS).

Jean Marc Mazio, responsible for the project STAREC, insisted on the fact that
“the stabilization of the territory of Mambasa, affected by armed and land conflicts, would require enhanced coordination in order to ensure success for these projects and consolidate the peace process.”
