Refresher Session for 300 Congolese police officers in Kisangani on ensuring security during the ele

This first refresher session for 300 Congolese Police officers is part of the scheme for secured electoral process; it started Tuesday 29 September 2015 in Kisangani, the administrative town of the Tshopo province.

Supported by the United Nations Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the refresher course will last 45 days and is divided into three sessions, each session will take two weeks each.

The roll-out ceremony was held by the provincial Vice-Governor, Mr. Pascal Mombi Opana; in attendance were several administrative officials, local police officers and MONUSCO officials.

Mr. Opana applauded the work achieved by MONUSCO through its UN Police Section in providing permanent support for capacity-building to the National Police personnel.

He also urged the learners to be more disciplined, to always be available and dedicated and make the most of the different modules prepared by the UN Police component, PNC, CENI and other substantive Sections of MONUSCO.
