About 50 women activists converged in Goma on 30 October 15, 2015 to take stock of the implementation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 in DRC and in North Kivu in particular. The event organized by MONUSCO Gender Section in collaboration with civil society women's organizations in Goma as part of activities marking the 15th anniversary of the Resolution. The day availed the opportunity to the participants to debate how to better involve women in peace and security including local authorities represented by the office of the Governor and the provincial Ministry of Gender, representatives of international NGOs and UN Country Team and MONUSCO.
