MONUSCO commemorates the 70th UN anniversary in Kisangani

MONUSCO/Kisangani office commemorated UN Day on Saturday 24 October 2015 at “Alliance Française.” In attendance were the provincial Governor, Mr. Jean Bamanisa; provincial officials, Staff members of the specialized Agencies of the UN system. The UN Secretary-General’s message was read by the Chief of MONUSCO-Kisangani office. The provincial Governor, on his part, congratulated the UN for its multi-sector interventions in the city of Kisangani.

A competition on "I know the United Nations" was organized to commemorate the UN Day, at the end of which prizes were awarded to the schools that wrote the best one-pager essay demonstrating if the United Nations has actually met the world populations' expectations or not during its 70 years' existence.

The prizes included radio receivers; French-English dictionaries and outreach items from MONUSCO.
