MONUSCO congratulates T.P. Mazembe

Kinshasa, 20 December 2010 - The Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General for the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Head ad interim of the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the DRC, Ms. Leila Zerrougui, congratulates TP Mazembe on its extraordinary performance in the Clubs World Cup in Abu Dhabi on Saturday 18 December 2010.

This historic performance of TP Mazembe brought honour not just to the DRC but also to all of Africa, as the continent saw one of its football teams reach the finals of the world inter-club competition for the first time.
This achievement of TP Mazembe demonstrates that the talents and human potential of this country will grow stronger with the return of peace.
