PR: MONUSCO welcomes Angola’s announcement of a ceasefire between the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda

Kinshasa, July 31, 2024: The MONUSCO welcomes the announcement by the Angolan presidency of a ceasefire between the governments of the DR Congo and Rwanda, which will come into effect on August 4. The Mission also expresses its readiness to support the ad hoc verification mechanism mandated to oversee the adherence to the ceasefire, in accordance with its mandate.
