    09 Nov 2017 - Addis Ababa, 9th November, 2017: The African Union Commissioner for Peace and Security Smail Chergui, the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for the Great Lakes Region, Said Djinnit, and the Secretary-General’s Special Representative for the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and Head of MONUSCO, Maman Sidikou, met on 9 November in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to review the political and security situation in Burundi, the Central African Republic, South Sudan and the DRC.

    23 Oct 2017 -  KINSHASA – 23 October 2017 - The United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO) condemns the arrest of many members of the Rassemblement des forces politiques et sociales de la République démocratique du Congo acquises au changement by Congolese defense and security forces yesterday in Lubumbashi, in the province of Haut-Katanga.

    09 Oct 2017 - KINSHASA, October 9, 2017 – In the early hours of Monday morning, MONUSCO repelled an attack by suspected Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) on a MONUSCO position in Mamundioma, North Kivu province, during which the Mission sustained casualties. Initial reports suggest two peacekeepers are dead and several are wounded. The injured peacekeepers have been evacuated to Goma for medical assistance.

    28 Sep 2017 - KINSHASA, Sep. 28, 2017 – In response to clashes between presumed armed groups and the Congolese national army (FARDC) in the area of Uvira (South Kivu province), the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO) yesterday rapidly deployed troops in order to deter any attack to the city and to avoid the escalation of the conflict. MONUSCO Deputy Force Commander is on the site in order to oversee the situation.

    20 Sep 2017 - KINSHASA, Sep. 19, 2017 - The United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO) has been providing life-saving support to Burundian refugees following deadly clashes that occurred last Friday in Kamanyola (South Kivu province) in which 38 refugees (24 men, 13 women, and one child) and one Congolese military officer were killed with more than one hundred injured.

    19 Sep 2017 - Kinshasa, September 18, 2017 – A peacekeeper from the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO) was killed yesterday in Beni territory in the North Kivu province. MONUSCO troops reacted to an attack by presumed Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) against a position of the Congolese armed forces (FARDC), which is located 500 meters from the MONUSCO base.

    16 Sep 2017 - KINSHASA, Sep. 16, 2017 – The Special Representative of the Secretary-General in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Maman Sidikou, today condemned violence perpetrated in Kamanyola (South Kivu province) that have resulted in the killing of dozens of people and expressed his sincere condolences to the families of the victims.
