28 Nov 2016 - Kinshasa, 27 November 2016 - A group of some 50 Mayi-Mayi Mazembe this morning attacked over 1000 Hutu displaced families, located at Luhanga in North Kivu, killing more than 20 and injuring a similar number. A MONUSCO detachment in the vicinity of Luhanga, upon hearing shooting, immediately deployed and engaged the Mayi-Mayi, repelling the attack. One Mayi-Mayi was killed in the engagement.
08 Nov 2016 - Kinshasa 8 November 2016 - - An explosive device exploded this morning in Keyshero, a district situated west of the city of Goma in the North Kivu province, when the Indian peacekeepers were conducting their morning exercise.
The blast left one child dead and several people wounded: 1 civilian and 32 peacekeepers, 5 of whom were admitted to MONUSCO’s hospital with serious injuries.
22 Sep 2016 - The members of the Security Council expressed their deep concerns about the violent clashes between protestors and security forces that took place in Kinshasa and several other locations in the Democratic Republic of the Congo on 19 and 20 September. They strongly condemned the violence, which has already led to the death of at least 32 people, including four police officers in the capital.

17 Sep 2016 - Kinshasa, 17 September 2016 - Sixteen civil society activists of the Union of Congolese Youth for Change were arrested on 15 and 16 September in Kinshasa while holding an activity on electoral civic education. The arrests were conducted by ANR and PNC officers.
MONUSCO recalls that the freedoms of expression, association and peaceful assembly are fundamental rights enshrined in the Congolese constitution.
