MONUSCO turns over a rehabilitated office building and equipments to a civil society organization

Matadi, 13 March 2013 – The United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo (MONUSCO), refurbished and equipped a civil society organization office in Mbanza Ngungu.

Matadi, 13 March 2013 – The United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo (MONUSCO), refurbished and equipped a civil society organization office in Mbanza Ngungu.

The turn-over ceremony took place in the presence of the territorial administrator, Jean Oscar Botoko Yankangu, community representatives and beneficiaries of associative movements. MONUSCO delegation was led by the Coordinator of the United Nations Joint Office in Bas Congo, Hendrik Bruyn. In his introductory remark, he urged beneficiaries to make good use of the material and equipment received for the benefit of the entire community.

Worth $12,000, the project was funded by quick impact projects with the supervision of Civil Affairs section in Matadi; it consisted in refurbishing partially two office rooms, providing information and communication equipments as well as office stationery.

With such assets, the civil society organization in Mbanza-Ngungu will have access to internet connection, televised information and office automation services.
