古特雷斯向68名殉职维和人员追授勋章 表彰维和行动中的勇气与奉献

联合国秘书长 古特雷斯周五在纽约总部举行的维和勋章颁发仪式上表示，联合国维和人员始终在世界各地保护平民、支持和平进程，并在危险环境中履行职责。他向68名殉职维和人员追授达格·哈马舍尔德勋章，并表彰多名在维和行动中展现勇气和领导力的维和人员。 古特雷斯在致辞开始时向自联合国近80年前启动维和行动以来牺牲的近4500名维和人员致敬，并带领与会者默哀。 他表示，近期发生的事件再次提醒人们，维和人员在为和平事业奋斗过程中仍面临危险。 全球超过5万名维和人员执行任务 古特雷斯表示，联合国维和行动已被证明是国际社会应对冲突最有效的措施之一。 他说，目前全球部署着超过5万名维和人员，保护平民生命安全。他们通过遏制暴力、推动政治解决方案、支持选举、提供人道主义援助和排除地雷等工作，为和平作出贡献。 古特雷斯指出，得益于各派兵国的支持，已有超过200万名男女在四大洲71项联合国维和行动中服役。 他说，维和人员在面对巨大危险时展现出的勇气和主动精神令人动容。 向68名殉职维和人员追授勋章…
