Inauguration of RTNC building in Goma

North Kivu Provincial National Radio and Television (RTNC) in Goma has received a new face lift with the construction of a new building financed by the North Kivu province.

Presiding over the inaugural ceremony on Wednesday April 1, 2015, Governor Julien Paluku Kahongya called on the staff of the state corporation to put into good use the modern facilities (from Analogue to Digital ) with modern Radio and Television studios put at their disposal which were described as “a precious jewel” worth USD 6, 006 (Six thousand and six USD) constructed within a record time of 60 days.

Like the governor, other speakers during the event – which included the director of RTNC, Divisional chief of communication, Minister in charge of media, RTNC Staff and the provincial president of the National Union of Congolese Press (UNPC) - expressed gratitude to the governor for making their dream a reality after so many years of expectation and modernization.

The president of UNPC, while lauding the good initiative of the provincial authorities, told his appreciation for the good collaboration of their union with MONUSCO Public Information in Goma. Indeed, has benefitted the construction of a Press house/Press center financed in 40% by MONUSCO Qips project .

Other highlights of the inauguration included the presentation of certificates of recognition by the director and RTNC women to the governor and the architect for the timely construction of the new building and cutting of the ribbon by the governor.

Then, the governor visited the building and gave an interview to the media in the new radio studio.

The ceremony was attended by the provincial authorities including the vice governor, provincial deputy Ministers, the Mayor, the media and general public.
