Bunia, 12 January 2011- The Public Information Section of MONUSCO/Ituri celebrated New Year 2011 alongside first grade pupils of primary schools in Bunia, district of Ituri. During this celebration school kits including copy-books and pencils were distributed to the pupils.
The exercise is part of the Outreach activities by MONUSCO Public Information Division. More than three hundred (300) pupils, including 60 from the primary school for the deaf and dumb, received the school kits.
The pupils and their teachers expressed satisfaction at MONUSCO/Ituri's gesture and hoped that more assistance of this nature would be repeated throughout Bunia and across the district of Ituri.
MONUSCO/Ituri Public Information Section reassured the pupils and their teachers that it will always be willing to provide assistance within the Mission's mandate.
Similar distribution will be extended to pupils of primary schools in Aru and Mahagi districts.
