MONUSCO’s mandate explained to the leaders of youth associations in Kisangani

Public Information Sections and Civil Affairs/MONUSCO-Kisangani organized on Tuesday 8 September a sensitization session on MONUSCO’s mandate for the leaders of the youth associations in Kisangani. About a hundred young people attended the forum.

The activity is part of the dissemination of MONUSCO’s mandate and its role in the organization of the upcoming elections in the town of Kisangani. The purpose of the meeting was to exchange with young people over MONUSCO’s activities in the Eastern province and the key aspects of its stabilization mandate. The activities carried out in the province include sensitizations workshops, training workshops to build the professional capacities of journalists, judiciary actors, prison directors; and to support the security sector reform as well as carry out quick impact projects aimed at improving the living conditions of the local populations.

Participants unanimously expressed their wish to see such meetings be also held in the remotest areas where their peers do not have the opportunity to receive relevant information. At the end of the forum, MONUSCO magazines “Echos de la MONUSCO” were handed out to all the participants
