Official launch of 16-day activism against violence to women

Dungu, 25 November 2015: the Office of the United Nations Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo (MONUSCO) through its Human Rights Section and partners officially launched on Tuesday 25 November 2015, a 16-day activism against violence to women; in attendance, the representative of the Territorial Administrator; the chief of MONUSCO/Dungu office, Leonidas Nkingiye and several civilian and military staff.



The Representative of Gender, Family and Child Office in the territory of Dungu, Ms. Louise Gulupay urged the entire Community: men, women and children (boys as well as girls) alike, to engage in the fight against violence and denounce any form of violence against women.







The coordinator of the United Nations Joint Human Rights Office MONUSCO-Dungu, Abou Abdoulaye Cisse, gave a background history of the event as a recall to provide guidance on how to work for the well-being of women and families throughout the territory of Dungu as well as beyond Haut-Uélé province and DR Congo, » he declared.







To conclude the session, students of “Institut Technique Social Ngasuyo” performed a playlet in relation to the theme elected for the event.
