MONUSCO/Equateur participates in the monthly meeting of the Risk Analysis Committee

Mbandaka, 01 April 2014 - Members of the Unarmed community conflicts related Risks Analysis communities CAR) held their monthly meeting. About twenty persons from the provincial Government, provincial Assembly, security services (FARDC, ANR/Intelligence service), provincial Divisions, HCR as well as the thematic Groups of the civil society organizations took part in the monthly meeting of the CAR. Chaired by the provincial Minister of Home Affairs, the meeting was also attended by the provincial Commissioner in charge of Decentralization and the Chief ad interim of MONUSCO/Equateur.

Four items were included in the agenda of the meeting: dissemination of the Ministerial decree on the establishment of a local oversight committee for the Communities Peace Pact Lobala/Enyele-Bomboli/Munzaya-Bomboma-Monzombo in the territory of Kungu in the Sough Ubangui; appreciation and validation of the report on the analysis of the most dangerous conflict-related risks requiring urgent intervention; appreciation and validation of the Action Plan 2014 of the CAR as well as identification of urgent actions to carry out during the month of April 2014. At the end of the monthly meeting, four security evaluation missions were planned for the month of April in the Equateur province which, alone, numbers 236 conflicts, a large number of which based on control over traditional power (44%) and land-related conflicts (26%).
