School children of the DRC participating in the video conference organized by UN today applauded the initiative and thanked MONUSCO for their substantial contribution to peace in the DRC; which will save many lives and give a chance to the country to develop.

They said children are the first victims of wars in so far as they are deprived of their right to go school; instead, they are used as child soldiers and sustain all kinds of abuses. In a clear statement, they say: we do not want any more war, we say yes to a lasting peace, we say no to recruitment of children to become child soldiers.

They pleaded for more assistance from the International community to fight scourge like illiteracy, street children and promote education, health and the quality of life in DRC.
