Le Représentant spécial du Secrétaire général des Nations Unies, Martin Kobler a rejoint la ville de New York le 13 juillet pour présenter son exposé trimestriel devant le Conseil de sécurité. Il a profité de ce voyage pour expliquer l'organisation du siège de l'ONU, avant d'évoquer certains aspects principaux de la mission globale de l'ONU, à savoir la transformation des conflits en paix, devant un monument représentant un cadeau du Luxembourg. Il conclut ses propos en illustrant l'intérêt considérable des médias pour la MONUSCO, lors de son passage au studio de France 24.
