On 16 April 2026, South African Blue Helmets of MONUSCO, based in Eringeti in Beni Territory, North Kivu Province, provided assistance to pupils of Ndalya Primary School through the donation of desks and school supplies aimed at improving learning conditions.
The donation included 20 desks, two soccer balls, 450 notebooks, pens and pencils, colored paper, markers, rulers, a globe, binders, and other essential school materials.
A total of 152 pupils, including 75 girls, as well as three teachers, benefited from this support, which will also serve neighboring villages.
"Thanks to the equipment received, the students will now improve their knowledge and study in better conditions," said one of the teachers.

This initiative is part of MONUSCO’s community engagement activities, in line with its mandate to assist vulnerable populations affected by armed group violence, while strengthening trust and cooperation between peacekeepers and local communities.
During the event, MONUSCO also raised awareness about its mandate, early warning mechanisms, and the dangers of improvised explosive devices, encouraging vigilance and cooperation with security services.
The students and school officials welcomed this initiative by the South African Blue Helmets, expressing their gratitude and commitment to strengthening cooperation with MONUSCO and other local security services, with a view to better protecting civilians and creating a safer school environment.
