About Rule of Law and Security Institutions Division (ROLSID)
Strong institutions are the foundation of lasting peace. The Rule of Law and Security Institutions Division (ROLSID) unites MONUSCO’s Security Sector Reform (SSR) Section, Justice Support Section (JSS), and Corrections Unit (CU) to strengthen justice, security, and corrections systems across the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).
ROLSID works hand in hand with Congolese authorities, civil society, the UN Country Team, and international partners to advance inclusive, accountable, and nationally owned reforms. By supporting the justice chain, professionalizing security services, and improving prison governance, ROLSID contributes directly to protecting civilians, fighting impunity, and reinforcing state authority.
