MONUSCO equips the court of Kananga with computer equipment

Kananga, 4 October 2012 – The Justice Support section of the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO) in Kananga, Kasaï Occidental, organized a ceremony, during which it officially handed over computer kits to the Kananga Court of Appeal and Prosecutor's Office on 2 October 2012.

The ceremony included the launch of a 12-day basic computer training for 12 judiciary support staff members.

This computer equipment included 12 desktop computers, 12 computer tables, four multifunctional laser printers, four scanners, 12 voltage regulators, 12 fans and 12 extension cords, all donated as part of a MONUSCO quick-impact project and executed with the technical support of the Adventist Development Relief Agency, an international NGO. This new equipment replaces a warn-out and obsolete office material, which was seriously hampering the activities of the Tribunal and the Prosecutor's Office.

The handover ceremony was chaired by the interim provincial governor, several provincial authorities, as well as the United Nations Regional Coordinator for Kasaï Occidental, Alain Sitchet.
