Bangladeshi Police treat Ekabana Orphans

Bukavu, 13 January 2011 - The Bangladeshi Police Unit in Bukavu, the provincial capital of North Kivu, on 13 January paid a courtesy visit to the Ekabana Orphanage located in the town of Kaputu.

The contingent doctor, Farid Khan, took the opportunity to examine 34 children, who were suffering from various diseases. The contingent gave out medicine to treat the children, and left of number of medical supplies to the management of the Orphanage for future use.

The Orphanage of Kaputu shelters a total of 120 children aged 2 to 16 years.

On 22 December 2010, the Bangladeshi contingent had also supported the Congolese National Police in the region with 18 boxes of medical supplies.
