The Memorial Service in honour of late Cpl Elias KIATTI of Benin, who passed away on 13 Jan 12 at Kalemie after a short illness, was held at MONUSCO HQ in Kinshasa on Saturday 04 February from 09:20 Hrs up to 09:55 Hrs in the presence of the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary General (DSRSG) HC, the Deputy Force Commander (DFC) The Benin ambassador also attended the ceremony.

Three wreaths were laid by the DSRSG HC, the DFC and the Benin Ambassador and later a book of Condolences was opened and the formers were first to sign, followed by those who attended the service.

Cpl Elias Kiati, was a very dedicated Junior NCO, born on April 14, 1977, at Dassari area of Materi in Benin, he joined Benin Armed Forces Training Centre in 1995, during his military career he has worked as Republican Guard of 3rd CS/BS and in Signals Battalion, on 1st Jul 2002, he was appointed to a rank of a Corporal, he arrived in the Mission Area (MONUSCO) on 21 July 2011in Katanga Sector where he met his un timely death on 13 January 2012 at Kalemie.

Western Brigade provided a Platoon for the "Guard of Honour", with a Brass Band during his Memorial Ceremony.
