MONUSCO supports the delivery of state examination materials in Kasai Central.
Due to insecurity along the roads in Kasai Central, due to presumed Kamuina Nsapu militia activity, MONUSCO support was requested to deliver state examination materials to enable the organization of the nationwide exam.
On 29 April, MONUSCO airlifted more than 250 tonnes of examination materials from Kananga to Luiza (180km S of Kananga), for dissemination in town, and further distribution to several centres beyond Luiza.
On 2 May, state examinations were launched across the province, despite some disturbance by presumed militia. According to Inspectors of Primary, Secondary and Professional Schools (EPSP), only 15 out of the 72 examinations centres reported incidents and were unable to conduct examinations.
