MONUSCO trains Congolese National Police members in Bunia on ICTs

Ten Congolese National Police Officers have been receiving training since Wednesday 1st April in Bunia on the use and maintenance of the new information and communication technologies. Scheduled for one month, the training is given by the Bangladeshi contingent of MONUSCO.

The training program includes word processing, software installation, internet use and computers’ repair.

According to Brigadier General Saif Ur Rahman, Ituri Brigade commander who opened the training session, “it is part of the Congolese police capacity-building program by the UN Mission.”

The training is one of the many opportunities offered by MONUSCO in line with the recommendations for police reform. It comes in after a training for 245 Congolese police members in Mambasa as part of the smooth functioning of the island of stability. The beneficiaries thanked MONUSCO and expressed their wish to be equipped and to benefit more refresher courses.
