Samboko, a village located 58 kilometers from the city of Beni in North Kivu, now has public lighting. Before MONUSCO installed solar streetlights there, the population faced darkness which caused cases of insecurity perpetrated by armed groups.
"Every cloud has a silver lining". The expression has been used by Jeanine, Alain, and Henry, the three staff working for the city hall in Beni who are pleased with the improvement in their working conditions since the construction of the new building, financed by MONUSCO.
The Public Prosecutor's Office at the Goma Peace Court now has three buildings entirely financed by MONUSCO.

On Thursday, May 18, 2023, MONUSCO Goma office organized an open house at the Indian battalion base in Saké, located about twenty kilometers from the city of Goma, in North Kivu.
Heavy rains on 4 May caused mudslides in the Kalehe territory (South Kivu), sweeping away a large part of the villages of Bushushu and Nyamukubi.
