On 22 November 2023, Congolese Foreign Minister Mr. Christophe Lutundula and MONUSCO Head Ms. Bintou Keita signed a note in Kinshasa outlining the progressive, orderly, and responsible withdrawal of the Mission from the DRC. The document included a plan and timeline for MONUSCO’s full disengagement. This followed the endorsement of the annex to the UN Secretary-General’s report on the Mission’s transition by both the Congolese authorities and the United Nations.
