MONUSCO increase pupils’ and students’ awareness of the Mission’s mandate in Uvira

Uvira, 22 March 2013 – To familiarize civilian populations with the mandate of the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo (MONUSCO), the Mission's Public Information Division in Uvira, Sud-Kivu, organized public awareness campaign for 10 secondary schools and universities in the Ruzizi town and plane.

Amid plays and games, pupils and students were given responses to their different concerns on the various aspects of the Mission's mandate.
In light of the success reaped by the activity, Bakanirwa Timothée, director of Bethel Kimanga School said "MONUSCO must proceed with the sensitization activities and explore the possibility of training teachers on the Mission's mandate and history for the latter to include into their teaching curricula."
