Mr. Said Djinnit, Special Envoy of the UN Secretary-General has arrived in Kinshasa

Kinshasa, 2 December 2015. The Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Mr. Maman Sambo Sidikou announces the arrival in Kinshasa on Wednesday 2 December 2015 of Mr. Saïd Djinnit, the Special Envoy of the UN Secretary-General for the Great Lakes Region, and this in consultation with the Congolese Government officials.

Before confirming that his Special Envoy will be able to facilitate the National Dialogue, the UN Secretary-General instructed him to come to Kinshasa to discuss the broad outlines of the Dialogue with the Government and other stakeholders.

The United Nations Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo (MONUSCO) will give its full support to the Special Envoy Djinnit, within the framework of his meetings with all the parties in Kinshasa.
