The recently reopened Dzudda market had been closed since 2022 due to inter-community violence between Hema and Lendu.
For several years now, Congolese soldiers have regularly taken part in MONUSCO training courses on combat tactics, explosive ordnance disposal and civilian protection.
The aim of this project is to replace weapons with farming tools, with the emphasis on profitable cultivation.
MONUSCO facilitators also presented community protection tools such as the Community Alert Network (CAN) and Local Protection Committees (LPC).
