– For three weeks, 125 freshly arrived elements from the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo (MONUSCO)'s Formed Police Unit (FPU) were trained on public order policing techniques in preparation for the country's presidential and legislative elections due on 28 November.

The training included modules dealing with policing tactics based on the new concept of keeping law and order, as defined by the United Nations. ,

With the completion of the training, these FPU will collaborate with the Congolese National Police (PNC) to provide security for the upcoming elections. They are both expected to conduct joint patrols before, during and in the weeks following the elections.
