Kananga, 29 May 2013 – In Kasaï Occidental province, the Joint Office of the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo (MONUSCO), like other peacekeeping missions, marked the International Peacekeepers' Day.

Several provincial administrative and military officials attended the ceremony, including the vice-governor, Deller Kawino, and the deputy-speaker of the provincial Assembly. The highlight of the day was the reading of the United Nations Secretary-General's message, followed by the speeches of provincial authorities.
