28 Oct 2019 - United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres today announced the appointment of David McLachlan-Karr of Australia as his Deputy Special Representative in the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO), where he will also serve as United Nations Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator. -

05 Aug 2019 - The Security Council reiterates its grave concern about the most recent outbreak of the Ebola virus in the Democratic Republic of Congo(DRC). It takes note that the World Health Organisation(WHO)has declared the Ebola outbreak in the DRC a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC). -
01 Aug 2019 - The members of the Security Council met on 24 July 2019 to discuss the situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and activities of the United Nations Organisation Stabilisation Mission in the DRC (MONUSCO). They were briefed by the Special Representative of the Secretary General, Leila Zerrougui, on the political, human rights, security and humanitarian situation in the country. -
16 Nov 2018 - Kinshasa, 15 November 2018 - In response to regular attacks on the civilian population in the Beni area, the Congolese armed forces (FARDC) and the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO) jointly planned offensive operations that were launched on 13 November 2018 with the intention of disrupting Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) activities. -
08 Nov 2018 - 8 November 2018 (KINSHASA) – New measures to overcome challenges in the response to the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) are having a positive impact, although the outbreak remains dangerous and unpredictable, the United Nations Department of Peacekeeping and the World Health Organization (WHO) said after a joint mission to assess the outbreak. -

09 Nov 2017 - Addis Ababa, 9th November, 2017: The African Union Commissioner for Peace and Security Smail Chergui, the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for the Great Lakes Region, Said Djinnit, and the Secretary-General’s Special Representative for the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and Head of MONUSCO, Maman Sidikou, met on 9 November in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to review the political and security situation in Burundi, the Central African Republic, South Sudan and the DRC. -

09 Oct 2017 - KINSHASA, October 9, 2017 – In the early hours of Monday morning, MONUSCO repelled an attack by suspected Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) on a MONUSCO position in Mamundioma, North Kivu province, during which the Mission sustained casualties. Initial reports suggest two peacekeepers are dead and several are wounded. The injured peacekeepers have been evacuated to Goma for medical assistance. -

28 Sep 2017 - KINSHASA, Sep. 28, 2017 – In response to clashes between presumed armed groups and the Congolese national army (FARDC) in the area of Uvira (South Kivu province), the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO) yesterday rapidly deployed troops in order to deter any attack to the city and to avoid the escalation of the conflict. MONUSCO Deputy Force Commander is on the site in order to oversee the situation.
