    20 Sep 2017 - KINSHASA, Sep. 19, 2017 - The United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO) has been providing life-saving support to Burundian refugees following deadly clashes that occurred last Friday in Kamanyola (South Kivu province) in which 38 refugees (24 men, 13 women, and one child) and one Congolese military officer were killed with more than one hundred injured.

    19 Sep 2017 - Kinshasa, September 18, 2017 – A peacekeeper from the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO) was killed yesterday in Beni territory in the North Kivu province. MONUSCO troops reacted to an attack by presumed Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) against a position of the Congolese armed forces (FARDC), which is located 500 meters from the MONUSCO base.

    16 Sep 2017 - KINSHASA, Sep. 16, 2017 – The Special Representative of the Secretary-General in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Maman Sidikou, today condemned violence perpetrated in Kamanyola (South Kivu province) that have resulted in the killing of dozens of people and expressed his sincere condolences to the families of the victims.

    04 Aug 2017 - Kinshasa, 4 August 2017 - Ntabo Ntaberi Sheka, leader of the armed group Nduma Defense of Congo (NDC), was transferred on Friday August 4th to Kinshasa and was handed over by MONUSCO to the Congolese judicial authorities. Sheka has been under MONUSCO supervision in Goma since his surrender on 26 July.

    26 Jul 2017 - Goma, 26 July 2017 - Ntabo Ntaberi Sheka, founder and leader of Nduma defense of Congo (NDC) has surrendered Wednesday 26th July to MONUSCO in Mutongo, approximatively 10 km North of Walikale, North Kivu. He has been transferred to Goma. Sheka is wanted since 2011 under a national warrant for crimes against humanity including for mass rapes.

    26 Jul 2017 - GENEVA (26 July 2017) – UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein on Wednesday announced the appointment of Bacre Ndiaye (Senegal), Luc Côté (Canada) and Fatimata M’Baye (Mauritania) as international experts on the situation in the Kasai regions of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Bacre Ndiaye will serve as chairperson of the team of experts.
