Inauguration of MONUSCO-built Fence Wall for a Primary School in Bunia

Bunia, 23 July 2013 – The United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo (MONUSCO) inaugurated Friday 19 July, a fence wall built for Andisoma primary school, in the city of Bunia, Eastern Province.

It is a 40-meter long wall, with two gates at the main entrance of the primary school which is one of the largest schools in Bunia.

The project, worth $5,044, was fully funded by MONUSCO quick impact projects and implemented with the coordination of the military - civilian wing of the Bangladeshi contingent of the Ituri Brigade.

Mr. Ladjouzi M'hand, Director of MONUSCO office in Ituri said the activity falls within the framework of the civilian protection and is aimed to protect the school students against traffic accidents like the one that recently occurred.
