The Secretary-General continues to follow closely the situation in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), in particular the political dialogue process.
Entebbe, 18 August, 2016- The HIV/AIDS Section of MONUSCO has ended a two-day-workshop in the Ugandan town of Entebbe.
The members of the Security Council condemned in the strongest terms the killing of at least 50 civilians on 13 August in the area of Rwangoma village, North Kivu province of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), by suspected members of the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF).
Much to the delight of the victims, some of whom already started losing every hope to see justice done one day… as a result of the Congolese authorities’ determination with support from some DRC’s partners, including the United Nations.
