For several days now, security has deteriorated significantly in the Djugu territory, marked by murders, arson attacks, and kidnappings attributed to Codeco and CRP militiamen.

Ituri: More than 3,500 civilians find refuge with MONUSCO in Gina

More than 3,500 civilians, including 1,850 women and 550 children, found refuge on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at MONUSCO's military base in Gina, in Djugu territory (Ituri). They were fleeing violent clashes between two rival militias that bloodied the region until late in the evening.

In Beni, prison staff receive training to better protect inmates and colleagues from fires

Twenty officers from Kangbayi Central Prison, including four women, completed practical training in the use of fire extinguishers and professional fire management techniques.
