MONUSCO helicopter makes emergency landing

Kinshasa, 22 November 2011: One of the helicopters of the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the D.R. Congo (MONUSCO) that was supposed to have delivered electoral material from Kisangani to Bokongo in the Oriental Province today was forced to make an emergency landing in Yambula, 130 Kms South West of Kisangani, after its engine developed a technical problem

All the seven passengers and four crew members are well and safe.
MONUSCO is making every effort to repair the aircraft at the earliest.
The Mission wishes to make it clear that this incident will not affect its technical support to the electoral process.
