MONUSCO Trains FARDC Troops in Bunia on How to Use IT Tools

Bangladeshi Peacekeepers of the UN Stabilization Mission in DR Congo (MONUSCO), launched Wednesday 21 May 2014 in Bunia, the administrative capital of the district of Ituri, a training session around the basics for the practical use of IT tools intended for the military personnel of the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (FARDC)

Altogether 16 learners including 2 women participated in a training which is part of MONUSCO technical and logistic assistance to FARDC under the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2147 with a view to improving FARDC’s working conditions to enable them to successfully carry through their preliminary mission, that is to ensure protection for civilian populations and security for the entire national territory.

The learners basically made up of military officers are receiving training on IT tools and at the end of the two-week sessions, are expected to use effectively the IT tools.

FARDC senior management in Bunia welcomed MONUSCO’s initiative in organizing the training session and expressed the hope to see more similar sessions organized in order to bring all FARDC military personnel in Ituri up to the same level in this area.
